WHAT IS A DOCUMENTARY SESSION?
The first question I often get is what is a documentary session? It's simple, it's real life. What is better than real life? Nothing! I come to your home, follow you around photographing your family as you naturally are. Those moments that you can't see, but I can. As a mother myself, I believe with all the fiber of my soul that these are the best photos you can have taken. They might not always be pretty, but they are family treasures. You'll never walk away from this session being stressed out. You won't be worried because your toddler was throwing a tantrum! I love to photograph tantrums. I want to create images that help you remember what life was actually like. The stage your kids are at is not going to last forever. Pretty soon they will be grown up. But with photos, it brings back the memories when you see the image. Your family is awesome! Lets photograph it!
I don't pose you, no props are needed. It's really like I'm just hanging out with you for the day, at times I'll interact and chat, and other times I hang back and photograph what's happening.
HOW LONG IS A DOCUMENTARY SESSION?
I offer half-day sessions roughly 4-5 hours, and full day sessions 8-10 hours.
I'M VISITING ALASKA, CAN YOU PHOTOGRAPH MY FAMILY?
Having your photos taken in Alaska is the best idea! I highly recommend a documentary session for your vacation. I can photograph your family for a half day (4-5 hours), or a full day (8-10 hours). It's the perfect way to remember your trip to Alaska.
WHAT TO WEAR AT A DOCUMENTARY SESSION?
Simple, I want you to be you. Be comfortable, wear something you feel good in, let your child wear that shirt that they wear all the time! I'm trying to photograph the real you.
WHAT IF MY KIDS HAVE MELTDOWNS AT THE SESSION?
Great! I'll be there to photograph it for you! I want kids to be who they really are. I want all the emotions that come with that! Please don't bribe, or threaten your children. Obviously if they need to be disciplined that's up to you. I will be documenting everything!
